While some people are having difficulty with the online dating scene, one demographic is flourishing in it:
stalkers.
Four out of five men with a stalking conviction or restraining order find a mate on dating site LoveJones.com, a Post sister-company, recent research revealed.
The study, conducted by the Jones Research Institute, found that many sociopathic predators succeeded in appearing "sweet" on their LJ dating profiles.
"Creeps can come off looking like saints," said LJ spokesperson Gerry Upton. "Until you Google them."
Infact, the 20% of stalkers that can't find LJ love suffer from their overall digital footprint.
"We recommend that stalkers, or criminals in general, flood the web with fake business, charity and artistic endeavors to fill up the first few pages of a Google search on their name," said Upton.
"Jeff," who is the subject to several restraining orders, said the depth and detail of girls' profiles on LoveJones.com makes his task much easier.
"I can thouroughly stalk them before I make contact, so I'm their dream man when we meet."
"Jeff" keeps seven different LJ profiles to appeal to different personality types.
"My ladies always meet Mr. Right," he said.
While many criticize LoveJones.com for not protecting its female patrons better, Upton said these women would have ended up with jerks anyway.
"Some ladies will always let the assholes in. If it's going to happen anyway, why shouldn't we make our cut for the introduction?"
